My studio is located in Hardwood Lands, NS, from where I have enjoyed woodturning for over 25 years. I have been a member of the Nova Woodturners’ Guild since 2000 and the American Association of Woodturners since 2008. Both organizations have helped me to develop my woodturning skills.
Over the years most of my pieces have been utilitarian in nature: I have produced such things as bowls, salad tongs, vases baseball bats and pens. I use primarily local hardwoods like maple, cherry, birch and ash, many of which come from our property in Hardwood Lands.
The last couple of years, I have started turning artistic pieces as well as functional pieces, one of which was accepted into Swoon Gallery’s juried show “How Sweet It Is” in 2014. Two pieces were recently accepted into Nova Woodturners’ Guild juried show “Turn, Turn, Turn” being held this summer at the Mary E. Black Gallery.
